2015 Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Day

This Sonia Kovalevsky Day is an opportunity to engage middle school and high school girls in a day of networking, mentoring, and fun! The day will begin at 8:30am with registration followed by a keynote lecture, a hands-on mathematical activity and a career panel. There is also a special professional development session for teacher's just before lunch. The event is completely free and lunch and giveaways are provided. You must pre-register by March 23rd to particpate.

After lunch we will participate in an exciting game called, "Who Wants To Be A Mathematician,"sponsored by the American Mathematical Society. Participants in this game show can win up to $3000 in scholarships and fancy Texas Instruments calculators. To participate, students must complete a qualifying quiz, administered by their math or science teacher. Only one student per school may be nominated for this gameshow. Nomination must occur by March 14th. Please contact the organizer if you are interested in participating in this exciting gameshow.
